A Guide From David

Preparing for Telehealth

A video appointment works best when the practical details do not take over the conversation. Before we meet, we can discuss your Washington State residency, privacy and any concerns about using video.

Who Is Eligible

Your appointment eligibility is based on Washington State residency. Telehealth is available to Washington State residents, including while you are traveling out of state.

Make Room for Privacy

Consider who might be able to hear the conversation and whether you are likely to be interrupted. Headphones may be useful for listening, but they do not prevent someone nearby from hearing what you say. If privacy is difficult to arrange, we can discuss the concern before the appointment.

Check the Connection Details

I will share the video connection information when we schedule. Give yourself time to check that the device, camera and sound are working. If you need help understanding how to join or what to do if the connection fails, ask before the session so we can agree on the next step.

Consider Whether Video Fits

Some people prefer the convenience of meeting remotely; others find an office conversation easier. We can discuss your preferences and whether the setting gives you the attention and privacy you need. Washington State residency is what makes you eligible, including while you travel out of state.

A Question to Bring With You

What practical issue would make it difficult for you to speak freely during a video session?
