Who I See at This Office
My work here includes individual adults, partners coming together, and families. I see people across adult life, from their twenties through their nineties.
I want to hear how life feels to you, not just the name of a concern. In relationship sessions, we look at how each person wants to relate and what happens between you now. Your own hopes give our conversations direction.
Old wounds can be met with patience here.
Pain from earlier years can show up in how you respond today. We can approach it without rushing into details you are not ready to discuss. I pay attention to your pace and the strengths you bring, while helping you question conclusions that no longer describe you fairly.
Concerns I Often Work On Here
These are some starting points for a conversation, not separate boxes you have to fit into. Several concerns may overlap in your life.
Trauma and PTSDUnderstanding strong present reactions with care for the earlier experiences behind them.
Self-Esteem and the Inner CriticLooking more fairly at yourself when old judgments drown out your strengths.
Relationship ConflictPracticing ways to hear one another when disagreements turn into distance or blame.
Divorce and SeparationThinking honestly about a relationship and the life you want after it changes.
Later LifeExploring what still matters as relationships, health and familiar roles shift.
Moving Between Offices and Telehealth
The setting does not have to stay the same throughout our work. Some clients sit with me in an office one week and meet by video another. We can discuss either Seattle location and make the arrangement together.
Telehealth is available to Washington State residents, including while you are traveling out of state. A video meeting also needs privacy and a steady connection, for everyone joining a couples or family session too. A change of format does not change the goals we have agreed to work toward.
Starting With a Consultation
Our first conversation is a free call lasting 20 to 30 minutes. Tell me a little about what you want help with and ask about my approach, fees or meeting options. You are deciding whether this feels like a useful place to begin.
If we choose to start, the first full session lasts 50 minutes. We discuss your hopes for the future and set goals in language that means something to you. Sharing your history can happen gradually; there is no need to cover it all at that meeting.
