How I Work

Insight-Oriented Therapy

Sometimes you can see a pattern in your life without understanding why it keeps returning. Insight-oriented work makes room to explore how earlier experiences connect with the meanings you give to what is happening now.

Understanding a Pattern in Context

A familiar reaction may make more sense when we understand the circumstances in which it developed. I listen for what you learned about yourself, other people and what it takes to feel accepted. We do not have to assume that every difficulty comes from the past to be curious about those connections.

Questioning an Old Conclusion

A painful experience can become a statement about who you are: that your needs are too much, that conflict means rejection, or that a mistake reveals your worth. We can examine a conclusion rather than treating it as a settled fact. You decide which parts of this exploration feel relevant.

Insight Has a Place in the Present

Understanding a history is useful when it helps you see choices in your current life. We may connect a realization with a conversation you want to have, a limit you want to express or a goal you have been setting aside. Reflection and practical work can support each other.

You Set the Pace

You do not need to arrive with a complete account of your life. We can begin with something happening now and explore earlier experiences as they become relevant. If a conversation feels too fast or does not fit, I want you to tell me.

A Question to Bring With You

When a familiar reaction appears, what does it seem to say about you or about the other person?

Frequently Asked Questions

Will every session focus on childhood?

No. We start with what matters to you now. Earlier experiences are part of the conversation when they help us understand it.

Can we work on practical changes too?

Yes. My approach brings insight together with skills and goals that are relevant to your daily life.
